Wizaired Cold Air Intake
On 8/20/2003 over my lunch hour, I installed my Wizaired Cold Air Intake. I did a lot of research before I bought this CAI. I also looked at a FWI (Fender Well Intake) but decided that I didn't want to clean my air filter every month or two. The car definitely sounds different...almost like a big vacuum cleaner at idle and light throttle, but when you go WOT (wide open throttle), you can really hear the M90 Eaton Supercharger whine. The whine will only get louder too with a smaller pulley! When people ask me how much horsepower gain I got by installing this CAI, I tell them a conservative 10 to 15hp. Lately with the weather being hotter and more humid (less dense air), it doesn't feel as strong as it should, but once the weather cools down, it will feel even stronger! When I couple it with a 3.4" Supercharge Pulley, it will be even better! On 8/23/2003, my dad and I changed the transmission fluid and filter. Since he has a Buick Regal GS with the same engine as mine (Buick's version of the GTP) I let him drive it to see if he could feel the difference with the intake. Well, to sum it up, now he wants an intake. He could really tell the difference. That gave me a big grin. Here's a picture of the intake.
