Installed Custom DHP PCM

On 3/16/2005, I installed a custom DHP.  Now some of you may be wondering why in the world I went from a DHP, to an Intense PCM, back to a DHP.  Well, I was having a really hard time tuning my car and I couldn't even run a 3.2" pulley, which for my mods isn't right at all.  Another local member can run a 3.0 pulley with their cam/heads.  The only difference is that he has a DHP which commands 15-17* of timing, while I have a Intense Stage 1 PCM which commands 20-21*.  Some people say that the code in the Intense PCM commands way too much timing and not enough fuel.  I always thought it was just some people bashing Intense.  Well, another local with an Intense Stage 1 PCM started having problems with his motor, and it sounds like he chipped a piston.  He was also have problems tuning, although not as bad as me.

Then some things came to light about Intense and some of their products.  I already decided to switch back to DHP, but now I really wanted to get rid of it.  I felt like I had a ticking time-bomb controlling my engine and I stopped going over 50% throttle.  Well DHP stepped up to the plate and offered all us Intense PCM guys a DHP exchange.  For $25, they would re-flash our Intense PCMs to a DHP model.  For $50, they would do 2-3 custom things, for $75 they would do something completely custom.  I opted for the custom PCM because of my setup.  I had these changes from the standard DHP programming made to my custom PCM:

There are still a few more things I need to tweak with it, although once another local member gets his DHP PowerTuner updated, I'll easily be able to do it.  Anyway here's a picture of my new Custom DHP PCM.  I think it's kinda funny what they did with the Intense label.
