Bought a Second GTP

On 10/19/2006, I drove down to Westminster, Maryland to pick up a modded 2000 Pontiac Grand Prix GTP.  I saw an opportunity to make some money off of it by selling the modifications and then re-selling the car.  Since the furnace at our house had to be recently replaced, we really could use the extra cash.  Here are some pictures of it:

As you may have noticed, it looks a lot like my GTP, but it has some differences.  Most people call it "DuBob2" since my nickname on the internet car forums is "DuBob."  Anyway, here is a list of the modifications that came with it:

So as you can see, there is a lot that needs to be pulled off and sold before I sell the car.  It'll keep me busy for the next few months, but it should really help our finances.  I'll update this page with the demod process.  There is a small oil leak coming from somewhere that I'll fix and then look into why the brakes feel kinda weak.

UPDATE: 10/20/2006 - Taxes, title, insured.  I already have people interested in some parts and they will probably pick them up next weekend.

UPDATE: 10/22/2006 - Stock airbox installed, stock front swaybar installed and brakes checked, oil leak found (lower intake manifold), stock rear sway bar and trailing arms installed.

UPDATE: 10/29/2006 - SD hood swapped for stock + cash, CAI also sold.  Stage 2 TB sold and back to stock.

UPDATE: 11/5/2006 - Replaced Lower Intake manifold gaskets, removed TOG Headers and 3" downpipe, installed stock manifolds and stock downpipe.  Installed stock supercharger snout/pulley.  Replaced MSP Transmission pan with stock pan and new gasket.  Oil changed, Coolant flushed, Tranny Fluid replaced.  16-hours of work, but now drivetrain is completely back to stock.

UPDATE: 11/9/2006 - Local Grand Prix friend came up to buy the Borla exhaust and swap his stock exhaust on to "DuBob2".

UPDATE: 12/1/2006 - Sold a lot of smaller items, TB spacer, belts, SC snout, O2 sim, clear corners.  I have a local buyer for the headers and downpipe, and a local buyer for the suspension setup.....just waiting for them to come pick them up.  The 18" wheels are off the car and the stock 16's are installed.  I need to clean up the Evo5's to sell, hopefully locally.

UPDATE: 12/21/2006 - Sold the headers on 12/10/2006, sold and swapped on stock suspension on 12/17/2006, sold the tranny dipstick, MSP tranny pan, and some other small items.  Almost done, I just have to install the stock radio and remove the rear powerslot rotors.  I clayed, polished, and waxed the car on 12/16/2006 and it cleaned up really nice.  I'll also be getting an alignment before the year is over, and then it'll be up for sale!

UPDATE: 1/10/2007 - SOLD THE CAR!!!  I came across somebody looking for a GTP and I mentioned this one to him and he wants me to install mods on it before he picks it up.  Looks like I will be installing a VS cam, Pacesetter Headers, 3.25 Supercharger Pulley, and a cat-back exhaust.  Looks like I'll be busy again, hehehe.

UPDATE: 2/1/2007 - "DuBob2" is now has a VS cam and Pacesetter Headers installed.  The cam swap took a long time because I received a defective cam that had the threads stripped out from the cam bolt.  It took a full week until I got a replaced cam and finished the install, but it runs great and strong with the 3.25 Supercharger Pulley.  Now I need to tune it and wait for the cat-back exhaust to arrive.

UPDATE: 2/17/2007 - Installed the SLP cat-back exhaust on 2/12/2007 and the new owner picked up the car on 2/17/2007.

UPDATE: 3/3/2007 - Well, I got to see "DuBob2" again because the new owner wasn't happy with the Pacesetter headers hitting the body of the car, so he bought a set of TOGs.  So on 3/3/2007 he came back up and we ripped the Pacesetters off and installed the TOGs and everything fits much better now.  It should be completely done now.
