GMPP Stainless Steel Exhaust
On 12/8/2003, I took my car to Bushong's Muffler Shop in Akron, PA to have them install my GMPP (General Motors Performance Parts) Exhaust. The system is made by Magnaflow and is constructed of stainless steel 2.5" piping, stainless steel resonator, and stainless steel mufflers and tips. It is rated to add 10-15 hp and I can tell a difference at higher rpms. The sound change was the biggest surprise because it has a deep throaty rumble to it now. For my tastes, it is a little too loud in the cabin because the mufflers are causing the trunk to resonate like a speaker. I plan on changing the tips from the ugly 4" ones it has to a 2+2 3" tips which may help with the sound. I also plan on installing Dynamat in the trunk.
Here are a few pictures. They were taken at night, but you can see what I mean with the ugly 4" tips! Sorry for the dirty car, but they love to use half of the years supply of salt on the first snowfall!!!

And here's a picture of the kit waiting to be installed. Nice and shiny!!!
