Installed Intense Stage 1 PCM

On 9/29/2004, I installed my Intense Stage 1 PCM.  I did have the Digital Horsepower PCM (DHP) which was designed for the basic mods (3.4" supercharger pulley, cold air intake, cat-back exhaust) but with my plans for the upcoming mods, it called for a differently tuned PCM.

The DHP PCM was a nice upgrade, however it did have it's negatives.  In Performance Shift Mode, the shifts were too harsh.....even at half throttle.  The skip-shift from 3 to 1 was really hard on the transmission too.....I would purposely avoid it by not going full throttle between 30 and 40mph.  The Intense Stage 1 PCM is much easier on the transmission, yet it still shifts firmly when needed.

The differences between the DHP PCM and the Intense PCM are:

• DHP shifts at 6000rpms, Intense shifts at 6300rpms
• Intense has effective, yet less harsh shift patterns than DHP
• Intense has increased idle (+100 RPM)
• Intense has elimination of trouble codes (random/multiple misfire, coolant temperature, inefficient catalyst, EGR and EVAP)
• Intense PCM is coded with my car's VIN number, while the DHP's are not.
